Seeing Triple!

Had the camera ready in the bag and thought that it was a great opportunity to capture the girls (Jodie, Meagan and I) looking beautiful after a big workout in the same atire! It was particularly bizarre when Jodie and Shelley wore a matching red number to their group session with Keithy Boy the next morning! I know for a fact that Maz also has this outfit pictured above! It was a very popular one to get! We're all hoping that Keith will start giving us themes for our Saturday sessions.

Concrete paradise

We started up at a little after 8am Saturday morning, as we realised that we had to dig a new trench for the electricity and watering system capability in the future. With the concrete truck's pending 9am arrival, there was some quick and efficient digging action done by the team! We potentially seemed to have broken the clothes line, but Richard claimed that its integrity was comprimised from sun damage. Hope that was a correct synopsis, cause Dad and I were the ones to blaim otherwise. Anyhow, we managed to concrete the main section and after lunch and a couple of drinks at the local pub, we sauntered out and boxed up another section!! Loving that.

Tip Number 7: When the mini mix man rocks up and claims that there's an extra charge after 20minutes, give him a wink and a smile to distract him from the time!

Leveling the paving field!

Well we were back out in the garden firing along with the leveling today! Thankfully the sun was out shining and everything seemed to be going according to plan. With the parent arrival less than a week away, I know that Dad is going to be fairly pleased with the progress that's been made. Got out there around 11am and finished up just before 2pm, which was quite timely for lunch. I think that Rich was completely over my whinging today, but it was really hard work!

We are pleased to know that now we are ready for the concreting to go ahead. Last time I forgot to order the concrete and Dad almost cancelled the trip! Thankfully I managed to find some workplaces opened at 7am on a Saturday morning and managed to get what was needed!

Tip Number 6: Don't be fooled, tradies do not stay late at work on a Friday night, so if orders need to be made, DO IT EARLY!

A break in the weather!

Thankfully a break in the weather finally came and the sun was even out shining! Saturday, I put some time into getting rid of those confounded weeds! No help from Richard unfortunately! He claimed that it was time for lunch when I made a suggestion to get out amongst it. As I had just put a colour in my hair, I was literally under the pump to get out and back in within the normal 45 minute time-frame! I thought that I had a good crack at it, but really it didn't look a lot different. The damn weed bin fills up sooooo quickly, but at least now, most of the huge ones are gone and I hope for good!

Tip Number 5: The silent treatment does have a place in this world! Use it sparingly and wisely to get the most out of your partner!!

See! Pictured above is Richy Rich, smashing through a few weeds. After a TINY bit of silent time Saturday arvo, he was as keen as mustard to get out the back and start a very tactically planned ground assault. He even suggested that I stay inside and rest up. I think he too was engaging in his own game plan to get me out there. Well I did go out, because in the back of my mind I thought there may be a chance of rain next Saturday, which is the final weekend before Mum and Dad's arrival.

There is still more weeding and the leveling of the ground to do, between the boxing mainly to adequately accommodate for the concrete. There has been great motivation to get cracking on the weeds! I like it when my parents lock in a time, it really gets the mind and body going on what needs to be done. I would like to take this opportunity to wish the weeds well in their final week in the backyard!

July Bargain Blitz!

Tip Number 4: When embarking on a massive spree, ensure you have a great friend who doesn't mind holding your bags!

Stocktake sales are often under the scrutiny of keen shoppers and bargain hunters, but it was July of 2008 that found a major change in my wardrobe and moved many of the out-dated stuff to the local St Vinny's bin! In this particular spree, Myer was hands down the winner! With my good buddy Caroline accompanying me and helping to hold all of my purchases, it was shoe buying heaven in one of the best sales I've ever seen!

Team Misso takes to the streets!

After many months training together and early Saturday morning rises, Team Misso took to the streets of Ferntree Gully and enjoyed a fabulous night out!

A notable absentee was Maria, though Meagan and myself gave her share of the drinks a crack in-lieu of her presence. It was a shame that Rapid Fire, Lurch, Stalker and Rambo had other arrangements, but maybe they'll make the effort next time! Beware: short shorts, not long enough tracky pants, lingering stares and hairy backs could be all the rage next time!

Thanks soooo very much to Meagan for organising this fun night out and for Keith for finally socialising with the crew! Go you good thing! It was also fabulous to see a welcomed return of dancer girl Deb and we certainly all empathised with the pain in her feet.

Tip number 3: Remember to smile after sucking on lemons to avoid ugly photos!

Growing, Growing, Gone!

As the front garden approaches its first birthday, it is pleasing to see that so many of the initial 83 plants planted by mum and I lasted the distance! With trials and tribulations a plenty, including an exceptionally annoying drought, the current trends in torrential rain, as well as the plant stealing fiasco at Easter time, we are absolutely thrilled that there has been some awesome progress in the front yard!
Dad and Richard need a special mention, for building the new letterbox seen below. The time spent on it was far greater than initially anticipated, however, the finished product was well worth the wait! Unfortunately it was very difficult trying to get Dad cracking on the other massive list of jobs that I had lined up! LOL!
Tip number 2: Being nice to your parents really does go a long way!

And it begins...the war on WEEDS!

Tip number 1: Don't turn a blind eye to your weeds, they will win!

After being in the house for over 3 1/2 years, we are finally about to embark on the next step in our great gardening journey! Mum and dad have kindly locked in a trip to our place to take on the first bit of concreting in the backyard on the last weekend of August! Yes it will certainly be a time consuming project, but it will be something that we've done as a team and something to be proud of!
